Ideally based in the Upper Mountains (resident). Own transport, own laptop and mobile. Pre-approved out of pocket expenses are reimbursable.
Background in environmental/social science. Interest in the vision and mission of BMWHI. Knowledge of the Blue Mountains local community and GBM system desirable. Willingness to be hands on.
Able to commit to a six month minimum engagement with BMWHI (subject to satisfactory performance and willingness to contribute as a volunteer)
Able to work occasional weekends/evenings to assist BMWHI in running community events/stalls at BMWHI events and or selected Blue Mtns festivals.
Opportunity to work with a not-for-profit mandated to develop research and community engagement in pursuit of improved conservation of the GBMWHA
Opportunity to work with a small team who have diverse backgrounds and wide interests/networks linked to conservation, sustainability and environmental issues
Work on interesting projects benefiting the local community and the heritage values of the Mountains
Engage in wider debates regarding the future of the GBMWHA
